Clara Whitted Leavengood
August 25, 1926 - December 02, 2013
Savannah- Clara Whitted Leavengood, 87, passed away on Monday, December 2, 2013 at Hospice House Savannah.
Of her accomplishments, her most significant was being a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Born in Orlando, Florida she married Bill Leavengood in Ocala, Florida prior to moving to Savannah in 1948 where she lived the remainder of her life. She was the church secretary at both Epworth and Wesley Monumental Methodist Churches before becoming involved in real estate. She was a member for many years at Wesley Monumental Church and especially enjoyed being a member of the Jane Shirah Ladies Circle. In recent years she has been a member at Skidaway Island United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her husband of 65 years, William H Leavengood; two sons, Ted and Harry Leavengood; four granddaughters, Lisa, Amie, Julia, and Claire; and three great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM following the visitation at the funeral home. Interment will be private in Ocala, Florida.
